Creating this newsletter has been one of the most enjoyable projects I have ever undertaken. I get to meet and interract with so many fabulous professionals and curious minds, itās such a privelege!
Hereās a short selection of feedback weāve received for The Rotten Apple. Enjoy.
āI love Mondays now. There is always something fascinating in your newsletters ā¤ā
Results from our 12 month reader survey
Our top responses to the reader survey showed that the overwhelming majority look forward to reading our newsletter each week (70%), with the remainder skimming it to check for items of interest.
The most popular aspect is our coverage of news on food safety and food fraud.
āI like the focus on food fraud, [in mainstream food industry media] there are usually only reports of incidents- and wide and varied resourced which I do not have the time to go through. I also like the unique insight on these incidentsā
āStill love to read about Food fraudā
Other feedback about The Rotten Apple
I have enjoyed reading all of your Rotten Apple newsletters!Ā Your summaries are educational, personal and well-written while providingĀ the link to their sources.Ā Plus, there is a bit of fun side to them, as well.
I will be referencing them at times in my summer graduate course I teach at Michigan State University (Anti-Counterfeiting Strategy & Product Protection) which centers on food fraud/EMA, but explores other areas, as well.Ā
I look forward to reading them, as they roll out.

Feedback for Karen
I purchased your [vulnerability assessment template] following an audit.Ā The auditor mentioned this was a good tool.Ā My former Food Fraud Plan was not as robust as I wanted it to be.Ā This really is a great tool and I feel much more confident in our plan.Ā I used the controls worksheet and report.Ā This is easy to use.Ā Thanks.Ā Corey, Maytag Dairy Farms
