Hi, nice to ‘meet’ you!
Welcome to The Rotten Apple, an independent publication dedicated to original reporting and timely briefings on the topic of food integrity.
The Rotten Apple was made to streamline your inbox, so you don’t have to sift through the mountains of industry information that comes across your desk each day.
As one of the world’s leading food authenticity specialists, founder of foodfraudadvisors.com and creator of the massive (and massively popular) Food Fraud Risk Information Database on Trello, it’s my job to stay informed about everything that’s happening in the food integrity space. That means reading hundreds of articles, posts, notifications and research papers every week.
With The Rotten Apple, I take the most pertinent, timely and interesting items from the week and craft them into a single, punchy email…. sifting out all the fluff, filler and advertorials so you don’t have to.
My aim is to produce a publication that’s insightful, respectful of your time and free from the constraints of advertisers or big donors.
By delivering The Rotten Apple as a weekly email, I think I can keep you informed and save you time. However, for it to be successful, it needs the support of a lot of individuals, just like you. If you believe, as I do, in improving the integrity of our global food supply, then I hope you’ll join me and support this project.
The single biggest thing you can do today to support The Rotten Apple is to subscribe to the newsletter. It’s easy to do and I don’t use your email address for anything else, ever.
Free subscribers get all the main news items and commentary each week. Paying subscribers also get weekly food fraud incident reports and horizon scanning updates, plus access to indexed archives and downloadable (searchable) compilations of past issues. Learn more about paid subscriptions here.
If you’ve already signed up, please share this with your friends and colleagues. Thank you! I look forward to sharing my insights and expertise. And I’m grateful for your support.
Hi Karen, I hope you find yourself very well. I would like more information about the subscription and if you have any subscription for companies
Hi Karen, thanks for doing this! I’m new to Substack and I can’t wait to get involved in the conversation. Best wishes from London!
